Eve, Vandana, and You

Did you read Eve’s poem “I’m Over It?” which she posted days before One Billion Rising? The entire poem gave me goosebumps and tears, especially the part about: where are the good men…that we have raised, loved, nurtured…why aren’t they stopping the rapists? (paraphrasing, don’t quote me) Now I just read Vandana Shiva’s article about the connection between economic policies that are unjust contributing to greater violence against women. It’s all connected, isn’t it?
And then I read ‘Mama by the Bay’ – her blog about how mothers of sons have such a job: to teach their sons to be kind, empathetic, caring. It’s all a bit overwhelming at times, but reading the good stuff, the positive changes, keeps me hopeful that a tipping point is near by.

  1. I LOVE Vandana. Have you read “Stolen Harvest?” I have it if you want to read it. Great book by a visionary woman. Such generosity and fight in her heart.
