Haiku is Easier than I Thought

Before trying to write haiku, I thought it complicated and beyond me. Now I find it a fun way to express what’s inside. It’s really quite a simple formula: 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the second, and 5 in the third. This haiku has become a mantra that brings me comfort every time I recite it:

I keep coming home
Where my heart and soul reside
Over and over
